THE GOLDEN TREASURE OF TOMORROW.

Many years ago, there lived Mr Hugh Fleming, an old poor farmer in Scotland, he lived on his farmland with his wife and children.
One day he was working in his farm as usual and was about leaving, for he had worked his hands to the bones since the early hours of the day, he started dragging himself towards his little farmhouse, but got stopped in his tracks by a piercing, heartbreaking cry from a nearby ditch…being a kind hearted fellow, he forgot his tiredness and hunger, and rushed towards the ditch only to find a young boy who had fallen with his fancy bicycle into the ditch.
The farmer pulled him out of the ditch, got his bicycle out, cleaned his wounds and sent the boy home!
The next day, Mr Hugh Fleming was at home with his family when he saw a Horse-drawn carriage galloping towards his little farmhouse, and to his surprise it stopped at his door, and a nobleman in fancy, city clothes stepped out…the farmer stepped forward and introduced himself and asked the nobleman the reason for the honour of his visit, the nobleman said, ” you saved the life of my son yesterday, I’ve come to pay for your kindness” , with that statement he brought out a large amount of money and extended it to the farmer.
The farmer shook his head and told the nobleman that he won’t be paid for being himself. The nobleman was taken aback at such nobility contained in the heart of a peasant!
As the nobleman turned to leave he saw a little boy peeping from behind the farmer, an idea dropped on the nobleman and he decided to make another offer to the farmer, ” is that your son behind you ” he asked, ” yes that’s my son” replied the farmer. The nobleman continued,
” please allow me express my appreciation to you by sending him to the same school where my son is”
This offer was the sweetest thing Mr Hugh Fleming had ever heard, for this was greatest desire…to see his son go to a good school!
So that was it!
Mr Hugh Fleming’s son went to school on the nobleman’s purse and became a medical doctor, and is known all over the world as Dr Alexander Fleming, the man who discovered Penicillin!
In the course of time, war broke out in Scotland and people were injured and sick. An army general took ill and was dying, the only thing needed to save his life was an antibiotic!
Dr Fleming was at hand with his newly discovered penicillin to save the General’s life!
The Army General’s name was Winston Churchill.
Winston Churchill was the little boy who fell into that ditch near Hugh Fleming’s farm!
Alexander Fleming was the little boy the nobleman ( Winston Churchill Dad) offered, and sent to a good school!
You can draw all manner of lessons from this little story.
For me, DON’T IGNORE PEOPLE!
KINDNESS HAS A WAY OF CIRCULATING.
THAT STREET SWEEPER YOU KEEP IGNORING HIS GREETINGS MAY BE YOUR SAVIOUR TOMORROW.
Cheers
